I told David this morning that it’s like we’re racing to 1984. If you aren’t concerned, you are clearly not paying attention. This is from 2019, but think about where we are now just a mere nine months later. The encroachment on the First Amendment is seriously concerning.
And how many conservatives will be on it? Zero? One token pseudo-conservative?
“It’s just going to impact our platforms, but the hope absolutely is that at some point this is going to be an industry-wide body,” said Facebook public policy manager Shaarik Zafar at a panel on free expression online yesterday at the New America Foundation. “At that point you would have some type of consistency across platforms.”
