Entheos: The Story of NOW Will Be Told

I’ve mentioned the Entheos account on Truth Social. I don’t know who it is, but it’s someone very connected to Trump and whatever is taking place. (I’m calling him a he because that’s what I’m assuming.)

He frequently retruths things that he’s posted before. This one has been retruthed by him many times recently and I’ve been thinking about it related to what I do here. (Content continues below)

It’s interesting because I’ve been thinking a lot the past few months about deleted history. How much do we not know? How much has been deliberately hidden from us? It’s said that the victors write history so how do we know we’ve been told the truth? And as others have pointed out – isn’t it interesting how the “good guys” always win every war?

I’ve personally deleted lots of my content over the years for a variety of reasons which might include a change of focus or simply deciding I don’t want it up any longer. For example, this includes content about various ministry scandals and the days of the homeschooling movement in the early 2000s. I shut down my women in the church website because the content was beginning to feel dated and I didn’t have time to keep up with all of the cultural developments related to women.

Now, however, I see men in ministry and online starting to make the same mistakes some of those other ministries made twenty and thirty years ago. I realized I do need to leave that information up because there needs to be a real-time, historical record of it that can be referred to. Many people deleted their blogs and websites because of what happened. Others have let their domains lapse and so if it isn’t in the Wayback Machine, it’s permanently gone from the public record. Since we know the Wayback Machine is deleting info (it’s been in the news), it’s not possible to trust that either. If everyone just packs up and pretends nothing ever happened, we lose a lot of history – both the good and the bad.

I’ve followed many cultural and political events over the past several years across multiple websites and platforms. I have posts from multiple websites stored in an archive. I have screenshots from when I had a Locals group. I have info from Telegram. I have things saved on Gab and Truth Social. I have a forum full of information. This information is disjointed and all over the place at the moment because I’ve had a hard time finding what worked for me.

I told David I think the best thing I can do with all of it is to start assembling it into a narrative timeline here on this website. In other words, each piece of content in the forum will be inserted into a post here on this website at the appropriate date and time. So if I have a link in the forum on a specific date in 2021, I will create a post for it here and backdate it as appropriate. For example, I have many memes about censorship and Big Tech. But if I simply dump them all into one post and save them today, they lack the important context of when I initially saved them.

This is also why I save a lot of screenshots. If I embed a video tweet, I also save a screenshot at the very least. I can’t take the time to resave every video in my own video archive, but I can save at least part of the record. Tweets disappear and if I haven’t saved a screenshot, there is nothing left.

Someone might ask why I would do this based on something said by someone I don’t know. That’s an easy question to answer. It’s a valuable endeavor whether that person suggests it or not. As a regular person, I have collected a significant amount of information in real time that should be saved. What is the most interesting source to read from history? Personal diaries. My various blogs and online activities have been a kind of public personal diary.

Our history is being erased at an alarming clip. Just six or seven years ago, YouTube was FULL of information that has been rapidly taken down. There are so many topics for which you can no longer research both sides. They will only give you search results for the approved view or that mocks the unapproved view. The same is true of the internet at large. It’s been largely scrubbed of so much. Those of us who were around in the early days of the internet realize how much has been eliminated.

I don’t fancy myself a great historian. But I’m someone who has lived through something and has been willing to talk about it out loud. I’ve gotten some things right and I’ve gotten some things wrong. But I’ve been far more actively engaged with these events than most Americans.

So I’m going to be filling up the post archives. I will also continue to post new information as I have been doing, but with a somewhat different goal. I’m interested in keeping a record of what I think are important moments and developments, even if they don’t seem important to other people. This is part of what I did in the podcasts as I would discuss interesting bits of info I came across that I thought might prove to be important. I’ll continue doing that.

There is no way for anyone to keep up with all of the happenings. It’s just not possible and many truth seekers have been discussing this. You can only follow so many news stories and process what it means. So there will be holes in what I write about.

But I’ll focus on the stories that matter to me and that I think should be preserved. So you might see me write about events that don’t seem earth-shattering (like the fall of sororities to woke propaganda). But someone needs to keep a record of those things and so I may include that.

I’m also going to start including posts focused on conspiracy theories and weird stories. There’s a reason and we’ll discuss that as we go. I think it will be clear why I’m including them.

The other big thing is to set up a tagging system. I have used it effectively on my main website and this one is in great need of it. So I’ll be developing that as I go. (Now available: Tags)

So that’s where we’re going. I hope you enjoy it! If you do, please point people here so they can enjoy it, too. Thank you!

A Christian Nation

"The real object of the first amendment was not to countenance, much less to advance, Mahometanism, or Judaism, or infidelity, by prostrating Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among christian sects, and to prevent any national ecclesiastical establishment, which should give to a hierarchy the exclusive patronage of the national government."

Joseph Story (Associate Justice of the Supreme Court), Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States (1833), § 1871.

countenance: To favor; to encourage by opinion or words; To encourage; to appear in defense (Websters Dictionary 1828)
