Cleaning Before Christmas Decorating
I have a list of cleaning tasks I’ve moved forward over and over again this fall. It includes things like deep cleaning all the bedding, cleaning all the light fixtures, and cleaning above the kitchen cabinets.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

I hope you had a lovely day celebrating with friends and family. We had a quiet Thanksgiving of just we three. All of the food turned out well and we are all healthy. Those two things alone make it a very good Thanksgiving!

The After-Christmas Tree by Linda Wagner Tyler, illustrated by Susan Davis, is a sweet and memorable picture book about family, friendship, and extending the joy of Christmas just a little longer. It is one of those treasures I added to my picture book collection years ago because I immediately knew it was something special.

We put electric candles in our windows each fall and keep them there through Christmas, New Year’s, and the winter. I love the warmth and hospitality they send out each night when we light them, so I was especially delighted to discover An Early American Christmas by Tomie dePaola.

Christmas in the Country by Cynthia Rylant, illustrated by Diane Goode, is a warm and charming picture book that captures the simple joys of an old-fashioned Christmas. With its country setting, loving grandparents, and gentle holiday traditions, it is the kind of book that makes a lovely addition to cozy Christmas reading.
