Psalm 5
Psalm 5
Give ear to my words, O LORD;
consider my groaning.
Attend to the sound of my cry,
my King and my God,
for to You I pray.
In the morning, O LORD, You hear my voice;
at daybreak I lay my plea before You
and wait in expectation.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

Give ear to my words, O LORD;
consider my groaning.
Attend to the sound of my cry,
my King and my God,
for to You I pray.
In the morning, O LORD, You hear my voice;
at daybreak I lay my plea before You
and wait in expectation.

I normally do not add any comments to these Scripture posts. However, Catherine Engelbrecht of True The Vote has specifically asked us to pray this week saying:
We are living in days of miracles.
Claim Psalms 35. It is for such a time as this.

The LORD is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life—
whom shall I dread?
When the wicked came upon me to devour my flesh,
my enemies and foes stumbled and fell.

The idea that there is some future “ultimate fulfillment” of the Biblical prophecies is a troubling one. The Old Testament prophecies pointed to the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ. Jesus fulfilled the prophesies. To suggest that His work was somehow not enough to complete what the Father said He would do is… very troubling.
