Specifically, Mary McCord is literally a contributor to the Lawfare group affiliated with the Brookings Institution--these are people who are frequently quoted in anti-Trump, anti-MAGA mainstream media articles. Peter Strzok is friends with at least one of them.

McCord also conducts lawfare outside of Lawfare, and she does it widely. She was involved in the set-up for Trump's first impeachment trial, in getting Gen. Michael Flynn out of the first Trump administration, and is closely associated with the people who helped Christine Blasey Ford to testify against Brett Kavanaugh and nearly derail his confirmation to the Supreme Court. McCord also worked for the anti-Trump January 6th Committee, which led straight into Trump's second impeachment trial, and then into Special Counsel Jack Smith's efforts to convict Trump.

Her husband Sheldon Snook, former aide to Chief Justice John Roberts' legal counsel, is suspected of being the person that leaked the Supreme Court Dobbs decision that struck down Roe v. Wade in 2022. This whipped up pro-choice voter turnout in a year with no presidential election. Gov. Tim Walz was one beneficiary--it was suburban voters who gave him the victory over Dr. Scott Jensen.

Chief Justice Roberts is also head of the FISA court, which grant permissions to conduct surveillance of foreign agents and their American contacts, and the contacts of those contacts...a process which was heavily weaponized against Trump and his associates. McCord herself was in position in the Department of Justice National Security Division to file the FISA application based on the Steele Dossier against Carter Page.

A bit later when there were concerns about FISA application fraud and the misuse of the NSA database, McCord was appointed as an amicus curiae advisor to the FISA court to help with oversight--!

Currently McCord and friends are trying to leverage Tulsi Gabbard out of the Director of National Intelligence role--a critical position because Trump is hated and opposed by so much of the entrenched and unaccountable intelligence community.

McCord has lately been doing interviews in support of the anti-ICE protesters and obstructors. An interview she did about the Pretti shooting is linked below. I notice that McCord was careful to hedge her overstatements before she made them. Their commentary is not holding up well as more information comes out. McCord was once a prosecutor, and when she stretches the facts, it's for a reason.

You can see how Jen Rubin and Mary McCord are showing very different emotional reactions in the video. Rubin is outraged, upset, and crying, like they want the viewers to be. McCord is cool, calm, and determined--someone they want the viewers to trust going forward.
