I think filling your home with beautiful music is a key part of simple living.

This is such a lovely performance. I hope you enjoy it.

W.A. Mozart: Concerto in C Major for Flute and Harp (Part 1)

  • Rutha Vaitkute, flute
  • Ekaterina Dvoretskaya, harp

Beautiful and quite impressive, especially in the higher notes.

I've been starting up again with flute after a number of years away from it, and this is very inspiring.  A lot has stayed with me, and the rest is rough-edged, so far.

@peggy I'm not sure I knew you played the flute. Did you play in school or pick it up as an adult?

I looked into getting my clarinet refurbished a couple of times in recent years as I would like to play it again. I was a music major for a short time at MSU and I have missed playing it. It is a nice instrument with a very nice sound, but the pads are very old!

I was in band from fifth grade through college.  My college gave out small music scholarships to band and orchestra members.  One year, the concert band had way too many flutes, and they made a separate flute ensemble, which I was part of.  Before having children, I played on the church worship team sometimes.

I still have my first flute, and a somewhat nicer one that we bought at a thrift store a couple years ago.
