Christianity's Great Dilemma by Glenn L. Hill has the subtitle "Is Jesus Coming Again or Is He Not?" That's a great summary of what this book tackles.

Hill systematically goes through all of the Scriptures related to the last things. Here is the outline of the book.

• What a Dilemma Christianity Has on It's Hands!
• In the Gospels When Did Jesus Say He Was Coming?
• In the Revelation When Did Jesus Say He Was Coming?
• The Last Days
• The End of the World
• The Judgement
• When Did the Apostles Say Jesus Was Coming?
• When Did Other Early Church Leaders Say Jesus Was Coming?
• When does the Bible Say the Coming of Jesus Was Imminent?

The book is very easy to understand. This is not complicated theology. It is challenging, however, because it will make you uncomfortable if you hold to a futurist view. 

The one criticism I've seen is that the book is repetitive and contains too many caps and exclamation points. Those criticisms are valid. However, it doesn't take away from the profoundness of what is written.

These are very real objections to Christianity that we should be prepared to answer. 

What the Bible says about these things is pretty straightforward if you take them at face value as the disciples did. But that requires us to look at all of these passages as they would have understood them in their day with their worldview and mindset. That takes effort.
