Richard Dawkins is a renowned atheist and leader in the New Atheism movement. He spent his professional life championing the rejection of God and the Christian faith. He and the other Four Horsemen of the New Atheism movement are described this way.
The term New Atheism describes the positions of some atheist academics, writers, scientists, and philosophers of the 20th and 21st centuries. New Atheism advocates the view that superstition, religion, and irrationalism should not be tolerated. Instead, they advocate the antitheist view that the various forms of theism should be criticised, countered, examined, and challenged by rational argument, especially when they exert strong influence on the broader society, such as in government, education, and politics.
Major figures of New Atheism include Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, and Christopher Hitchens, collectively referred to as the “Four Horsemen” of the movement.
Dawkins has now lived long enough to reap what he has sown and he’s not entirely happy with the results. In this video below, he laments the fact that England is changing. He calls himself a “cultural Christian” who appreciates the lovely churches and Christmas hymns while he disdainfully rejects all the core beliefs of the Christian faith while calling them nonsense.
If you ever need to show someone a video of what cognitive dissonance looks like in action, this is it. He wants all the benefits of the Christian faith that have girded his native land for centuries while scoffing at the beliefs that made those benefits possible. He wants the comfort and security of how the Christian faith shapes a culture, but makes a living mocking people believing it.
There’s still time to repent, Dawkins. There is still time to bend the knee to Jesus, the Savior and Lord. There is still time to speak up and apologize to all of the people you have led astray, especially the young men.
You, Richard Dawkins, are a part of why your country is being overrun by the Islam you dislike and collapsing into ruin. You played a significant role in undermining the Christian faith. You are living on the fumes of a Christian kingdom that you spend decades trying to destroy.
May God have mercy on your soul because your sins against your fellow citizens have been great. The look in your eyes in this video demonstrates you understand that to some degree and are desperate to talk your way out of it.

“I’m not a Believer but there’s a distinction between being a believing Christian and being a cultural Christian and so you know I love hymns and Christmas carols and um I sort of feel at home in the Christian ethos I feel that we are a Christian country in that sense uh it’s truth that statistically the number of people who actually believe in Christianity is going down uh and I’m happy with that but I would not be happy if um for example we lost all our Cathedrals and our beautiful Parish churches um so I I’ve count myself a cultural Christian I think it would matter if we certainly if we substituted any alternative religion that would be truly dreadful…”
It speaks for itself. He’s happy that less people would believe but it would be dreadful that all the benefits would be gone. Wow.
Thank you for pulling that quote from the transcript. It boggles the mind.
You can see in his eyes that he knows what he’s saying doesn’t make sense. Massive cognitive dissonance.
The story the host told at the end about her two year old is not believable. I say this as the mother of a precocious child. There is zero chance a two year old or even three year old expressed that thought with any knowledge of what he or she was saying. Maybe he was mimicking something he heard, but I doubt even that.
But given that the woman wasn’t even willing to own basic Christian beliefs during the interview, I would not be surprised if she made it up to score social cred points.
Even the atheist at this point can see that it’s Christ or chaos.
