Psalm 5
Psalm 5
Give ear to my words, O LORD;
consider my groaning.
Attend to the sound of my cry,
my King and my God,
for to You I pray.
In the morning, O LORD, You hear my voice;
at daybreak I lay my plea before You
and wait in expectation.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

Give ear to my words, O LORD;
consider my groaning.
Attend to the sound of my cry,
my King and my God,
for to You I pray.
In the morning, O LORD, You hear my voice;
at daybreak I lay my plea before You
and wait in expectation.

I normally do not add any comments to these Scripture posts. However, Catherine Engelbrecht of True The Vote has specifically asked us to pray this week saying:
We are living in days of miracles.
Claim Psalms 35. It is for such a time as this.

I intended to respost one of the imprecatory Psalms this morning when I got to my computer. I discovered a friend had messaged me with Psalm 11, one of the few imprecatory Psalms I hadn’t used yet. It seemed to me that God chose this one today.

A Prayer for Deliverance
The nations, O God, have invaded Your inheritance;
they have defiled Your holy temple
and reduced Jerusalem to rubble.
They have given the corpses of Your servants
as food to the birds of the air,
the flesh of Your saints to the beasts of the earth.

Do you indeed speak justly, O rulers?
Do you judge uprightly, O sons of men?
No, in your hearts you devise injustice;
with your hands you mete out violence on the earth.
The wicked are estranged from the womb;
the liars go astray from birth.
