Sometimes in order to simplify our life we must complicate it for a period of time. Significant choices are often not a basic this or that. Instead, they can involve many layers that must be peeled back one at a time. This is why no one ever arrives at The Simple Life. It doesn’t exist. It’s a journey guided by our core values and beliefs that must respond to the ever-changing world around us.

If you read my website for very long, you’ll see that I’ve been peeling back the layers of my life for years. I write these posts to encourage you to think about your particular life situation and where you need to peel back another layer in order to walk faithfully. Your situation will look different from mine. But we all must be willing to re-evaluate and re-think our choices.

If you are seeking to simplify your life, there are many posts I’ve written to help. Perhaps you need to include more margin in your life. Maybe you need some inspiration when it comes to making wise choices. Or maybe you simply need to reset your thinking by contemplating The Cozy Life in America (and Why I Prefer It To the Danish Hygge). Wherever you are on your journey, I’m right there with you.

I’m Sallie — wife, mother, just-retired homeschooler, and happy warrior for Christ. Our little family lives a quiet and cozy life of home education, self-employment, and pithy exchanges. I’ve been writing here for 20+ years as a curator of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty. I don't peddle trendy aesthetics or ideas, but write about what I'm learning while thinking for myself. And I like to laugh. A lot. Start here. ♥
