My Thanksgiving Celebration is a little fill-in-the-blank booklet designed for young children. Each page has a simple sentence prompt with room to complete it, so the finished booklet is entirely their own.

What’s Inside the Booklet

The 10 page booklet walks children through their whole Thanksgiving experience, page by page, beginning with a title page for their name and then these prompts:

• Before we eat, we…
• My favorite Thanksgiving food is…
• I always take lots of _____ to eat.
• After we eat, we…
• The day after Thanksgiving, I…

Simple prompts, but the answers will be entirely their own. That’s what makes it worth keeping as a snapshot of their childhood.

How to Use It

Print the pages, cut them in half, and staple the pages you wish to use on the left side into a booklet.

When the time is right around Thanksgiving, let your child fill in the pages. Younger children can dictate their answers while you write them down. Older children can fill it in themselves (spelling mistakes and all!). 

This printable works beautifully as a quiet activity on Thanksgiving morning or as a wrap-up after the holiday when things have settled down and the leftover pie is calling. Some families may enjoy making it a yearly tradition. The same little booklet, filled in year after year, becomes a time capsule of childhood.
