I finished watching "Mr. Smith Goes To Washington" with my daughter yesterday (part of her homeschooling). The more things change, the more they stay the same. That story might have inspired me in the past, but it didn't yesterday.
We also had a local election yesterday about school funding stuff. I didn't vote. Neither did my husband.
We're simply tapped out. Even this happy warrior has her limitations. "And so it begins" doesn't move the needle. It doesn't even make it quiver like it might move.
I'm maxed out. Nothing is moving the needle any longer unless something truly profound happens. Not posts. Not speeches. Not hints. It's either profound, drastic and visible action with actual significant consequences or nothing for me.

Yes, I understand. We did vote locally here and it didn't move the needle at all. More progressive taxed to death nanny state. I have tried to help others see the picture on another platform and it doesn't move the needle at all. Makes me want to give up. We want to go elsewhere, but not sure how soon that will happen. There is no America First in my state and I don't see America First happening in our country either. It all seems so self-serving and a connection lost with what the people need and want.
