Thanks for sharing this post; it was exactly what I needed to hear right now! I have been struggling with "needing" to go back to work to help increase debt payoff and just make ends meet. I was thinking that maybe it's ok to just pay off the debt slower so we can have a peaceful home. Praising God for confirmation through this post!
I'm so glad it was helpful. I thought her approach was encouraging for families facing real life situations.
I honestly think some people make being debt-free and financial independence into a god. Debt is certainly a form of slavery which the Bible tells us. But it's possible to make a god out of the opposite and that isn't right either.
As she wrote, financial struggles may be a cross some people are called to bear in this life. Christian heaping shame on others for being in debt, often through no fault of their own, doesn't help the situation.
