Oh, that's right. She hasn't said a thing about a young black man who brutally and repeatedly attacked a defenseless elderly white man in a nursing home and then POSTED IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA.
Not a word from our esteemed Progressive Democrat Governor who wants to be your president.

On top of that, it appears that the young man may have been sent there because of her orders that nursing homes accept COVID-19 patients.
My background is in social work and after I graduated from college, I supervised several group homes for mentally disabled adults. It sounds like this young man was in a similar type of group home before being diagnosed with the virus. It also sounds like he may have assaulted a staff member of the group home in the past. Having dealt with similar situations (violent residents - not the virus), my guess is that the group home was relieved that he had somewhere else to go and may not have completely disclosed the possibilities for violent behavior. When you have a violent resident, there really is no recourse and nowhere else to send them. The police don't want to take them, and jail would be exactly the wrong place for them. The hospitals can't keep them because they don't have the staff or the billing options. The states believe they are doing people a service by closing down the mental hospitals, but it results in problems like this.
There are so many problems highlighted by this situation - the silence of the governor (and in the story I linked - does it sound like her spokesperson was saying that it wasn't even clear if it happened in MI?), the nursing home's neglect (from insufficient supervision), the group home's possible omission of violent tendencies, and an overarching problem of what to do with violent mentally ill and mentally disabled patients.
It is just a distressing story from all angles.
It's such a sad story in so many different ways.
Whitmer's lack of leadership is obvious. She's so determined to do whatever she can to make President Trump look bad and win points with the Left that she doesn't care about our state. She really doesn't.
I hope people are paying attention. This is what can happen to your state if the wrong person gets elected.
