He's quite right. So much rides on so much staying the same in order to make NYC work as it did, but five months into the pandemic and it's been disrupted too long in a way that makes it seem impossible to return to. Whatever happens, it would take years and a yet-to-be-determined new normal that couldn't possibly be predicted. Too many have left and won't return. It's the big reset button.
I heard Trump this morning call DeBlasio a fool. Unfortunately, that is probably true. Anyone who would want to bring this city and other cities down like this are walking a road to destruction in more ways than one. Many are leaving and will not return from many of these cities.
What I don't understand is why so many people are flocking to Colorado, my home state? When our governor and city mayor are doing the same thing? The jobless rate here is still high.... Our smaller towns so far are faring ok, but time will tell.....
