Someone somewhere shared this link. It's quite an interesting historical account.
There is actually quite a bit of interesting history on this site, The Colonial Society of Massachusetts. I'm not sure how much of it has been subjected to current political correctness, but some of the material on the site was written decades ago so it might still be worth reading.
