I'm curious how different people are viewing this situation. We're being told that we should treat this in the same way we treat the flu season. Well, during flu season we cut way back on going out so we already do more than the average family when it comes to avoiding crowds. I think this situation is much worse than the flu.
I'm firmly convinced this has already been circulating throughout most of the USA for at least 2-4 weeks. The only reason we don't "know" this is because no one was being tested. Now that people are being tested, it is being confirmed.
What will it take for you to stay home and not go out? Obviously if you are quarantined by the government the choice is made for you. But what would change your way of living life? Schools closing? Any positive tests in your town/city? Something else?
Or will you not change your habits at all unless compelled to do so?
