It's important to remember that unwarranted panic can cause just as many or even more problems as the real issue. There is a lot of psychology at play in situations like this re: real or perceived threats.
You may believe there is no real problem or threat. But if a critical mass of people do believe there is a problem, you will still be impacted by the actions of that group.
There is a lot of psychology going on in terms of what governments do and don't do, what health organizations say and don't say, and what the general population will do and won't do.
