CTCMath is a homeschool math curriculum designed to meet the specific needs of both learners and their parents. Their Homeschool Family Membership is an affordable way to bring online math to your entire family. I had the chance to review it and share it with you so let’s take a look!

I received access to this online curriculum for free so I could write this review. All opinions are my own and all content is my own except where identified as coming from CTCMath. I am being compensated for my time to write this review and was not required to provide a positive review.

CTCMath Homeschool Curriculum

CTCMath uses a multi-sensory approach, incorporating visual and audio instruction with written work. Combining multiple ways of learning into each lesson has been shown to be an extremely effective way for children to learn and retain what they learn.

The video portions of the lessons move at a slower pace and are very low key which is great if your child needs time to process and follow along. Overall, the lessons are short and to the point.

The lessons have enough color and graphics to make them clear but not so much that they distract. The graphics are directly tied to the lesson rather than being a decoration. If you have an easily distracted student, this is really important.

By using CTCMath, you are able to create a customized math program for your child. As you’ll see in one of the videos below, you can assign tasks for your child at whatever pace is comfortable for each of you. If a child masters something, she can move on. If she needs more time, she can have it. The program is very flexible.

The program includes quizzes and tests for you to use in the way that best meets your needs. If your child will benefit from the experience of taking online tests (such as in preparation for state testing), this is yet another benefit of using CTCMath.

(One note: The instructor is Australian and so speaks with an Australian accent. We’re accustomed to watching videos that include a variety of accents, but I wanted to mention it in case you have a child who might struggle with this. It does require a tiny bit more effort to follow along and this might be an issue for some children.)

The Homeschool Family Membership makes it a very affordable option for families looking for one program for all their kids. It includes all of the following grade levels and topics:

  • Kindergarten
  • 1st Grade
  • 2nd Grade
  • 3rd Grade
  • 4th Grade
  • 5th Grade
  • 6th Grade
  • Basic Math and Pre-Algebra
  • Elementary Measurement
  • Elementary Geometry
  • Algebra 1
  • Geometry
  • Algebra II
  • Trigonometry
  • Pre-Calculus
  • Calculus

Overall, CTCMath offers a great program for the homeschool parent who wants online learning, flexibility, increasing independence, and a multi-sensory approach.

Peek Behind the Scenes at CTCMath

CTCMath has helpful videos that show behind the scenes so you can get a peek at how to set things up for your students.

First up is the Getting Started video that gives you a glimpse of how it all works. It is very flexible in terms of picking and choosing what to assign your student and when.

Here is the video about Adding a Task.

The Student Reporting video shows one of the great parent tools available with CTCMath – detailed student progress reports. Here is a video explaining how to access student reports and what they include.

Once you get the hang of using CTCMath on the parent side, it’s super easy and full of helpful information.
