When we have lives full of responsibilities, I think it can be beneficial to have a tangible and visual reminder of what we’ve accomplished as homemakers. In fact, we accomplish far more than we realize each week because some of it we do over and over again without even thinking about it. So unless it is written down somewhere, we often don’t realize all the things we really do take care of each week. That’s why I created a free printable weekly cleaning checklist I named the Weekly Homemaking Checklist for the Creating Your Cozy Life Planner.
I think of this printable as not a demanding checklist to be followed, but a place where I can keep track of what I’ve done. Instead of taking up valuable brain space trying to remember the last time I did something, I can look at my list. (I’ve never been able to follow a schedule of doing certain things on certain days of the week. Ever. I’m not wired that way and our life doesn’t seem to work that way.)
Instead, I can look at this list and see how many days it’s been since I did a certain task so I know I need to do it. Honestly, that works far better for me. If you struggle with keeping on top of homemaking tasks, this might work for you too!
Free Printable Weekly Cleaning Checklist
This checklist includes the major areas of most homes:
- Kitchen and Dining Room
- Living Room and Family Room
There is also one blank section you can customize to fit your particular life. You could use this section for a room in your home such as:
- Homeschool room
If you want to keep track of the bedrooms, for example, you can put a check on the day you do a certain task in all of them (make beds) or put an initial on the day you do a particular task in a certain room (a C for when I wash Caroline’s sheets).
