Homeschool requests overload North Carolina state government website
I think K-12 schools, colleges, and universities have no idea how much the mindset has changed among a segment of Americans. I heard a news blurb the other day that 2/3 of the 1200 people surveyed in MI/OH/IL were planning on sending their children back to school. Two thirds? The story should have been about the 1/3 that might not.
The website in North Carolina for starting to homeschool crashed on Wednesday because so many people were trying to access it.

Wow! That's amazing! I knew the interest was up. I got a survey from HSLDA on my interest in mentoring etc. That is some of what people do need who are starting up homeschooling. Mentors, education on homeschooling and resources. It has been crash and learn for many of these parents.
The public schools are becoming more and more about indoctrination. Sex education, 1619 project, lack of history taught, math, grammar and composition are some weaknesses. Some schools are good, but improvement is needed. Hands on apprenticeships will be much better in the long run than college degrees depending on the field the individual wants to go into. Hands on learning is cemented so much better and lasts a lifetime!
