Next month I will be opening The Cottage, the membership area of SallieBorrink.com.
Every day I work on this project with David, I get more and more excited. I cannot wait to share The Cottage with you!
(Updated – Here’s a sneak peek! Post continues below.)
Earlier this week I sent out an email to my subscribers asking them what their dream membership area on my site would contain. I received many answers and some very clear trends emerged.
However, I know that for various reasons not everyone might have received the email or remembered to respond. So this is your opportunity to do so. If you would like to give your suggestions as I continue to prepare The Cottage for opening, simply go here. You can also leave a comment below or email me at Sallie AT sallieborrink DOT com.
I want to fill The Cottage with what will be most helpful, most encouraging, and most inspiring so feel free to share your ideas. I cannot promise to do or create everything that is suggested, but I certainly want to know what people are hoping to find both when it opens and in the months ahead as I continue to add to it.
Here are answers to questions I anticipate…
Why create a paid membership area?
A membership area will allow anyone who wishes to join the opportunity to connect in a private place with others who are intentionally pursuing joy, peace, and understanding in their home. It will give us the opportunity to truly get to know each other, support each other, and encourage each other as we create our cozy homes. Being a member indicates that each one of us is making an investment in both our home and each other. Creating The Cottage is a huge time investment for me and my husband, but one we believe in deeply.
Will this be a limited time opening that closes again for months at a time?
No. As a customer, I dislike courses or memberships that have a limited window to purchase or join. Creators do that to create a fear of missing out (FOMO) so people will hurry to sign up. That’s just not how I operate. Pressuring people to buy when I want them to do so doesn’t seem very cozy or cottagey to me.
My goal is to create a cozy community in The Cottage and I want people to join when they find us and are ready to do so. I certainly don’t want to lock kindred spirits out for months at a time when we could all be enjoying each other’s company and learning from each other!
Will there be a Facebook group as there is with most membership sites and courses?
No. Everything will be located on my site. The entire premise of my site and especially The Cottage is to create a cozy, peaceful place where we can focus on creating joy, peace, and understanding in our homes. Putting part of The Cottage on Facebook would be the complete opposite of cozy and peaceful.
What will the price be?
I am still determining the price. There will be both a monthly and a yearly option. I know that monthly will work best for many people. The yearly option will include extra benefits.
Do you have a launch day already picked?
I have one in my mind, but I’m not ready to make it public. The most important thing for me is to make sure I create a wonderful place for members of The Cottage. The plan is July and hopefully sooner rather than later!
I’m so excited! How will I know when you have launched?
